The main floor
A fan of blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps and pai gow sits below the central chandelier, with generous room between tables and comfortable chairs.
The Gold Room
Two levels beneath the lobby, this green-baize and gold-leaf gaming salon welcomes adult guests and visitors from noon to four in the morning.
A little history
At the hotel's opening, the space below the lobby served as a private card club for guests and their friends. The Gold Room carries on that tradition. Instead of flashing signs or loud announcements, there are thirty-eight tables beneath a coffered ceiling, fringed-shade lamps and a long bar for watching the play.
As part of the hotel, the room is staffed by people who have frequently worked here for many years. At the bronze doors, hosts welcome each guest, describe the floor plan and guide newcomers toward a suitable game. For those who prefer to observe, the lounge offers the finest view in the house.
The layout
A fan of blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps and pai gow sits below the central chandelier, with generous room between tables and comfortable chairs.
Off the main floor is a paneled room with ten tables, open daily from 2 pm, where a dedicated host manages the seating list and explains house rules.
This quieter, smaller space has four tables for guests seeking a more peaceful setting. Private games, birthdays and small celebrations may be reserved here.
Beside the floor, armchairs, small plates and a long bar welcome guests from noon to 1 am to watch, converse or pause between games.
On the floor
Table hours make the floor liveliest after supper and calmest early in the afternoon, making that the ideal moment to learn a new game.
| Game | Tables | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Blackjack | 14 | Noon to 4 am |
| Roulette | 6 | Noon to 4 am |

| Craps | 2 | 6 pm to 2 am |

Your first visit
At 5 pm each afternoon, a senior dealer leads a complimentary lesson at a practice table on the main floor. Each session runs for about forty minutes, covering blackjack on one day and roulette or baccarat on the next, with practice chips that remain at the table.
Hotel guests and visitors who are of legal gaming age may join the lessons. Reservations are not required: speak with a host by the bronze doors. Guests often attend before supper, then return afterwards with much greater confidence.
