The house style

Quiet, symmetry and fine linen

During the hotel's restoration, designers preserved the room layouts precisely as the original architects created them. Every room follows a central axis: a bed below a lacquered or tufted headboard, lamps to each side, a window-facing writing desk and two armchairs opposite one another. Cream silk paper covers the walls, walnut forms the doors, and each hook, handle and switch plate is made from solid brass.

Beyond the period details are all the comforts modern guests expect. Double-glazed windows soften street noise, hand-tufted mattresses are turned each season, and bathrooms feature heated floors, powerful rain showers and black-and-white tiles in a fan design. Upper-floor rooms overlook rooftops, while courtyard rooms face a tranquil garden where the fountain goes off nightly at ten.

The Deco King

The Deco King is the accommodation requested by name most often by returning guests. Beneath a cream tufted headboard sits a king bed, flanked by two glass lamps and a gilded oval mirror reproduced from an original discovered in the hotel attic. A walnut desk looks toward the window, with a velvet corner armchair ready for evening reading.

White marble, edged in black, finishes the bathroom, which includes a walk-in rain shower, heated towel rail and two brass robe hooks. Its courtyard-facing windows make the room particularly peaceful, including at weekends.

The Deco Twin

A little bigger than the Deco King, the Deco Twin offers two spacious double beds beside one another under one walnut headboard spanning the room's width. Families and friends traveling together favor its deep window seat, dark timber paneling and swing-arm reading lamps.

Its bathroom includes a full-size bathtub with overhead shower, a brass-framed mirror above the double vanity and ample shelving. Younger guests may have cots and rollaway beds added at no charge.

The Salon Suite

Every Salon Suite pairs a bedroom with an independent sitting salon, connected by glazed double doors. In the salon are a sofa, two club chairs, a games table and a cocktail cabinet filled with crystal glassware. Above the bed, concealed lighting behind the cove ceiling creates a gentle gold glow after dark.

The bathroom includes a freestanding soaking tub, separate rain shower, and dressing area with a full-length mirror. Guests of the Salon Suite receive a welcome cocktail at the Mirror Bar plus priority seating at Celeste.

The Penthouse Gallery

The entire fourteenth floor belongs to the Penthouse Gallery. A private elevator arrives at a gallery hall displaying photographs of the hotel across the decades, then leads to a living room, dining table for six, fireplace library corner and bedroom where a king bed faces the terrace doors.

Two terraces curve around the building's corners, looking across rooftops toward the river. The bathroom includes twin vanities, a steam shower and a soaking tub under a skylight. A butler remains available around the clock.

Room policies

Check-in and check-out: Arrivals start at 3 pm, while departure is by noon. The concierge can hold your luggage both before check-in and after check-out.
Children: All room categories welcome children. Cots come at no charge, while the Deco Twin and Penthouse Gallery are particularly well suited to families.
Accessibility: Fully accessible accommodations include twelve rooms featuring roll-in showers, low fixtures and visual alarms. Let us know your requirements at the time of booking.
Pets: In courtyard rooms, small dogs are invited to stay for $40 per night. A bed and bowls will be ready when they arrive.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted anywhere at Guest Nivo, including the Penthouse Gallery terraces and courtyard garden.
Changes: A card will be authorized for incidentals upon arrival. You may amend reservations without charge until 48 hours ahead of arrival.
